JÉGO AND GOCAB JOIN TO DEPLOY 6,000 ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN WEST AFRICA

GoCab and JéGO have just sealed a strategic partnership for the deployment of 6,000 electric vehicles across West Africa. An important milestone that reflects the shared desire of both stakeholders to make the region a cutting-edge area for clean mobility.

On the one hand, JéGO brings its expertise in electrical solutions; on the other, GoCab leverages its knowledge of the field and experience in operating private hire fleets. From this complementarity must come a greener transport offer, capable of meeting the growing demand of West African cities.

From an environmental point of view, the stakes are high.

By gradually replacing internal combustion vehicles with electric vehicles, this deployment should help to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to urban transport, a particularly emitting sector in major West African cities.

Fewer vehicles with a combustion engine are also expected to improve air quality in cities often confronted with significant air pollution, with direct health benefits for the population. This project is thus part of a broader effort to promote renewable energy and green the transport sector.

In concrete terms, this project is not limited to the mere entry into service of vehicles. It must also support the emergence of a true ecosystem around electricity: maintenance, charging, driver training, and development of local skills.

So many benefits are expected for the region’s economies, through job creation and the opening of opportunities for specialized start-ups.

For GoCab, this partnership reinforces a trajectory already underway in several markets, by giving its electrical ambition a resolutely regional dimension.
